Port Cygnet Men's Shed
The Port Cygnet Men's Shed is a small Shed with a group of friendly members who work as a team, in a spirit of mateship. We do not judge each other, and get on well together. We restore furniture, make toys and other items. We work on community projects, and soon will be offering basic computer training.
We have men from their 50's upwards, some with little or no real skills, to qualified tradesmen. (We can take men from 16 years old up.)
Our Shed was proudly built by our members, from the ground up, and is possibly the only Shed in Tasmania to do this in timber.
Port Cygnet Men's Shed members can teach you how to use many machines, including a wood lathe, planer, table, band and scroll saws and compound mitre saws, drills, and biscuit and mortice machines. We also have a pyrography kit and carving chisels. Our Shed is also wheelchair accessible.
Our membership is only $25 per year, which gives full insurance cover for all Shed activities. We can be found adjacent to the football oval off Slab Road, behind the Cygnet RSL and Caravan Park. We are open from 10am till 3pm Monday to Friday (closed public holidays).
We look forward to seeing you, so call in and check us out.
