After thirty years of owning her own curtain & blind/interior decoration business, and teaching at TAFE in Decoration, semi retirement means Robin can devote her time playing with her collection of fabrics making cushions, wall hangings and handbags etc...in fact, anything that appeals! More recently Robin has begun dappling in ceramics.
Last year Robin tutored with sewing lessons in making bags, cushions and children’s clothes at "Ourplace", a women’s making co-operative. Funded by the Tasmanian Community Fund, this project connected migrant women with other Tasmanian women through sharing a variety of craft skills that reused waste textiles and fibres. Crafts included sewing, knitting, crochet, felting, patchwork, quilting, papermaking, papercraft, bookbinding, dyeing and making jewellery. Much of the materials were donated by Resource Work Co-operative and members of the community, with artists like Robin also providing their expertise.
