Cynthia’s original love of material was in designing and creating quilts. These days she spends her time crocheting Rag Rugs, and delving into mixed media art. She has been making Rag Rugs for 12 years, and teaching the art for six years here in Cygnet. Her workshops have proven to be quite popular with some of her clients returning to learn more techniques.
Cynthia enjoys creating a variety of items with her crocheting technique – pot plant holders, table trivets, bowls, chair mats and cat and dog cosy homes. She also makes boho beads that she uses to decorate plant pot holders.
Cynthia practises and teaches neurographica art which is a form of art therapy that has helped her immensely in her art and life in general.
Cynthia has been interested in mixed media art for some time, and enjoys experimenting and exploring within a variety of mediums such as watercolour, acrylic, alcohol ink, and gelli prints.
