Originally from Melbourne, I moved to Tasmania 10 years ago to take up a residency at the Salamanca Art Centre. This opportunity gave me an exciting chance to explore new landscapes and possibilities. I now live in the Huon Valley, where I take inspiration from the changing seasons and colours. I regularly hike in Southwest Tasmania, exploring the majestic and yet vulnerable landscape.
I take my inspiration from the changing seasons and colours of the Tasmanian landscape. Through the making of art, my relationship with nature grows and deepens. The magic of nature offers an encounter with both lyrical beauty and an unpredictable powerful force. I love to paint glass. It is such a strong enduring material but when handled the wrong way, so quickly shattered. I use it as a metaphor to bring attention to the environment as it has the same qualities of strength and fragility and serves as a reminder to tread gently and with care.
